Agency for Empowerment of Pastrolists

AFEOP was established to solve some of the most pressing challenges facing pastoral communities in Kenya and the East Africa region. Due the increasingly unsustainable way of their lives because of human and natural issues like conflicts, recurrent droughts, and climate change. AFEOP will equip pastoral communities with skills and knowledge and give them the right tools to meet these challenges.

Initially registered with the NGO Coordination board as Blimey Foundation, the organization was renamed in November 2022 as the Agency for Empowerment of Pastoralists (AFEOP) to focus on the needs of Kenya’s 10 million pastoralists.

We have a regional field office in Mandera where our regional activities are managed from and a coordination office in Nairobi that serves to respond to donor/partners needs.
